The cost of smoking is going up big time in Texas. An increase of $1 a pack will hit consumers hard. Store owners are nervous over potential reduced profits and the impact this will have with their customers.

Of course, there’s an age old message that any monetary increase will hopefully work to disway teenagers from starting to spark up at an early age. The cost of buying smokes being so high, that most average school students would not be able to afford this habit. However, if there is ever a challenge for the young, they will overcome at all cost.
