If your in the market for a family pet, be careful of the retailer who is selling the pet. Some do not have a license to sell certain animals, like a hampster here.

I would strongly suggest that you visit an animal shelter, that’s where we have found our cats over the years. They usually have been dropped off by previous owners who can not or are not able to care for them in the future. In most cases, the shelter will provide vaccination discounts, or other similar health requirements for you when you take them home.

Another suggestion, I would have your new pet checked out by a Veterinarian for assurances of good health, never hurts to be safe when obtaining a New pet when you don’t know the previous owner or where the pet came from.
