I have very mixed feelings regarding this human interest story. The cause is to raise money for two policemen afflicted with cancer. However, is raffling a gun the best method in raising money? So far, it seems to be a successful campaign as they have run out of tickets to sell . Both families are in great need of the cash as they support their loved ones through this terrible disease.

I don’t question the need to conduct money generating functions one bit, but I’m just not convinced that raffling guns is the answer. Aren’t we suppose to be reducing guns on our streets? Not a positive message for the public. Maybe a garage sale, or donating money to the families is better? I don’t know.
