After placing numerous telephone calls to his son with no response, he was faced with the unthinkable decision. Should he turn in his son? He knew he had to make a difficult decision, but was quick to make the tough decision. He contacted the detective in charge of the case and advising him that the suspect they were looking for was his son. Although grief stricken, the Chief felt that this would act as an interaction and hopefully save his son from future criminal activity.

When asked if he would post bail to release his son, he responded that he would not, hoping that he would have time to reflect on his actions and make changes in his life for the future.
