The Dreaded Job Interview

interview.jpgIt can be a terrible gut wrenching and anxious feeling as your entering into a job interview by a potential employer. You don’t know if your facing 1, 2 or more people conducting the interview. Sometimes the Human Resources recruiter will include a person from the department that has the job opening. It could be a Supervisor or co-worker, depending on the company policy for conducting outside versus inside applicants.

In most cases, you could be faced with anywhere from 2 - 5 interviews, within the same company, depending on the level of position you are applying for. If so, be prepared to hear the same questions being asked by different people. Here’s a job interview guideline from Free the Drones Personal Finance Blog, on how to prepare yourself and anticipate one key question : Why do you want to work at our company?

The key is to be prepared, speak clearly and with conviction, sell yourself, your past achievements and successes. Know the company products and/or services, but don’t memorize the website, speak in general terms. Develop an immediate relationship with the interviewer, experts say you generate an impression within the first few seconds of meeting someone.

Last by not least, be yourself, don’t show a fake image. Try not to anticipate what the interviewer wants to hear, simply answer the questions to the best of your ability. Chances are, they have decided on you within the first minute.
