Fighting the Credit Bureau
You think all your finances are in order as your about to borrow money, then it happens, the creditor requests a credit bureau report on you and wham, a poor rating. Now the work begins. As you gather information to defend your excellent credit rating, it sems like a never ending uphill battle and emotions run high. All because the Credit Bureau has made an error. It can happen to anyone.
Here’s an example of a consumer, who works in the credit industry, had their credit rating effected by Experian who made a grave error that dragged on for 3 years. Even with the papers to prove his debts were all paid, Experian insisted that the tax lien on his house was valid. A frustrated position to be in and one that could break the average consumer.
Your credit rating is personal and very important, especially if your going to make any large item purchases like a house or car. I strongly recommend that you regularily check your credit rating at least yearly. A credit report can be requested and generated within a few days. You might feel relieved to know that everything is in order before you venture out to obtain credit.
