Kazaa Walloped

kazza.jpgThe well known software company, Kazaa, which allowed millions of users to download questionably sourced music and movies has agreed to pay more than $115 million restitution to the entertainment industry. I’m not in favour of this result. Again, here is a company that has been creative enough to invent a software program for consumers to use at their discretion, in their homes, for personal use, and because the entertainment industry feels jilted out of money, we suffer. Maybe if the costs of CD’s and movies were reduced to reflect what the consumer is willing to pay, then there would be no need to look for alternatives to download entertainment.
